Fisherman on Fishing Boat

Colorado Springs Fishing Checklist

Here's a helpful checklist of all the steps you should take to prepare for your upcoming fishing tour!

Fishing Checklist

01

Obtain Single day fishing license (unless under 16 years old) with extra rod stamp

  • If under 16 years old, you only need to purchase the $10 extra rod stamp, no fishing license required

  • More lines in the water = more fish in the boat!

  • Fishing licenses available from a multitude of options

    • In person: Walmart, most sporting goods stores

    • By phone 24/7: 1-800-244-5613

    • Online: www.reserveamerica.com

      • Write down the # provided and this is all you need for your single day license

      • Get $10.00 extra rod stamp

02

Complete liability waiver

  • Located on website HERE, or may be emailed upon request

  • Fishing license and waiver are required, the below items are recommended but not mandatory

  • Children under age 13 must wear personal flotation at all times (which are provided)

  • Warm clothes: It may be single temps when we start and hot when we finish so we suggest coming prepared for any type of weather. (We will have extra warm weather clothing on board as backup but still encourage all clients to bring their own.) Specific clothing pieces and accessories include but aren't limited to:

    • layers like a beanie/hat, gloves, thick socks, etc.

    • sunglasses (polarized if possible, to see the fish)

    • rain gear (just in case)

    • hand sanitizer

    • quick dry towel

    • chapstick (with SPF if possible)

    • thick insulated winter jacket

    • winter pants

  • Lunch/snacks, water/electrolyte drinks

  • Sunscreen (we bring extras as backup but prefer clients provide their own)

  • Insect repellent (no mosquitos just the local hatches)

  • Cooler with ice for fish (if you plan on keeping your catch)

  • Camera (to memorialize the fishing goodness!!!)
